Stephen Malkin, a poet and restorer of buildings, lived in Oracle Arizona in the 1970’s at the artist community of Linda Vista Guest Ranch. He later returned to Oracle, Arizona to find the C.O.D. Ranch in serious disrepair.  “I looked at the ranch and could hear it groan.”  He bought the ranch, and with the help of the local craftsmen, began a devoted 5-year restoration process that saved the old C.O.D. Ranch and made it into a unique Arizona guest ranch and intimate place of retreat.

Crumbling adobe ruins became the adobe casitas called the Bunkhouse and La Paloma.  Dilapidated old buildings became guest ranch quarters, meeting facilities, and a charming hacienda style main house.  Finally the historic C.O.D. Ranch was ready to host guests, family reunions, group retreats and business seminars and at the same time provide guests the opportunity to experience the beauty and rich history of an old Arizona cattle ranch. The goal was to stir the soul, bring people together, and let nature do it’s own healing and inspiration.
